Default Fokker DR.I Declas, Part 1 by Aviation Wings

In this thread I am going to show some images of the planes that are covered by this decal sheet. These should be useful for actually doing the repaints and placing the decals correctly. This will also serve as the thread to discuss tips, techniques and to as questions about painting these planes.

The decal headings will also link you to information about that pilot (where possible).

You can see other Fokker DR.I paint schemes if you click this Link. Click the picture to the right and it will enlarge. 6 pages so there is a plethora of info.

Kermit, I'm only showing the planes that are included on the decal sheets that I offer via AA in these threads. There is a very large list of sites showing paint schemes in the Hobby section of the forums.

I am guessing that the Fokker decals are no longer available? I see Albatros sets, but no Fokker. http://aviationwing.com/product-category/decals/

Thanks for the info. Is the model of Vallendor's D1 one of yours?

I haven't used the DR1 decals but have the other sets and recommend them for ease of use.
The only issue I have had is a couple of serial numbers have disintegrated when dampened, but the designs all held true and the models look great.

To apply I first cut out the decal, with these you don't need cut round the decal close, they are already cut.
Next dampen the rear of the decal with a wet paint brush. leave for a couple of minutes, then slide into place using a wet brush.
If the decal will not move wet the rear of the decal again.
Once in position, blot with tissue leave for. 5 mins then Microsol to melt into place. I leave overnight then varnish
