Thread: Junkers J1 Finally!

    Default Junkers J1 Finally!

I have been very excited with this one. It has such a distinctive shape and impressive operational record and I was so glad it got released before I scratch built it!

Brown tail "A" is also shown in the Wingnut Wings color schemes as all green. I like the bot of brown . . .

    Fully cowled engine, way cool!

    Now to the lozenge/green/mauve beauty!

Nice to have such a variety of colors on the mat, gotta get Hunter back in the air soon!

    Where did that Vimy go?

Inevitably this one (one of my favourite planes of the war) was released about a day after my latest order, so its #1 in the queue for my NEXT order now

I have them on order also (but the Xmas line is a long one it seems- first time they have missed a proposed printing date). I see we have a 'card' for the mauve/green one. The others are nice also. Max or Guntruck, care to have a go?

Mine came to the door today--fine timing! I would not have guessed how much more dramatic it is in person, even tho it is quite impressive in pix. Very nice!

This will be my first Shapeways plunge.

Is there a card available?. maneuver deck settled? game-data been finalized?

I have a few of them; painted 2 for origins this year. They came out pretty nice.

There is a new line drawing, and a card could show up, with stats. Which units and crews were these planes from?

Hmm... Max's card is pretty sweet. It will take a bit of work to get even close to that good.

Looks good, but I have my doubts about the existence of a front firing arc. I also think "20" is rather "conservative" an estimate, for damage.

Grey and Thetford has this as it's armament, as does a couple of other sources I ran across (though they might have used G&T). A pair of downward firing MGs were also fitted, but removed when they proved less than useful for strafing.
I wasn't on the committee for the J.I discussion (and can't find it right now), but it does seem a bit light. OTOH, for my contact patrol scenario, I had a set of house rules to account for it's armor.

You have me at a disadvantage Sir, as I am currently several thousand miles away from my reference material.
