    Mike.
The scheme was one I grabbed off the net, and only said Tripoli North Africa 1942.
As I only use generic aircraft I am not really worried if they fit into a regular squadron or not.
For me they will just form a couple of Aircraft transiting from Sicily to NA or back. Fodder for my sorties from Malta trying to disrupt Mr Rommel's supply route.
Thanks very much for all your effort on these.
Those cards will do just fine as they are.

NOTE: I used my He-111 mini card to do these, so the aircraft center is the center blue dot, with the "tailing" rule blue dot on the tail.

    Thomas,
Way late, but what unit was this from? I have G6 + MR as "KGrzbV.2; 102, Norway". The color scheme is unique, and I haven't found it online.

Also, what version would you like on the card, if you'd like one?

Looking at the plans and similar pictures, what would you say was the firing arc of the ventral 'dustbin' mounting, 3 o'clock round to 9 o'clock?

Well, I used the image from post 67 (Link).

And if you consider that fixed forward guns on fighters have a 45 degree arc, what's a bit of grace on a ventral arc?

Much as I loath to agree with Mike (Because I'm going to be on the receiving end over the Med) The arc he has depicted on the cards looks about right to me.

The firing arc for the ventral dustbin on your first card in post #102 is larger, Mike, but I think that the undercarriage would get in the way.

    David,
You don't have to use the card, if you don't like it?

I went through some visual extrapolations, and the worst case scenario is this:

Name:	ju52_3mg3VentArc.png
Views:	280
Size:	48.7 KB
ID:	172417
The Lower view is a g4e, and not a g3e, as can be seen from the missing spats on the wheels. The black circle is the gun ring, the red line is the back of the spats (if they were there), and the cyan line is the center of the ring. The worst blockage of sight line is the yellow lines, from the center of the ring to the farthest point on the spats. So, only when the gunner is aiming exactly level with the gun ring, could he not fire further forward than this. With an enemy aircraft slightly lower in altitude, the spats don't necessarily block his sight line, and only to the very front does the mounting hardware and wind screen block his sight line. This doesn't take into consideration any yawing by the pilot to allow a wider arc, as the front fighter arc provides.

So, technically, I have a really restrictive ventral arc, not a liberal one.

But, it is still your choice to use the card, or not.

    The finished JU52/3mg5e

    JU.52/3mg5e
This Luftwaffe Junkers Ju.52/3mg5e served in the Balkans with 2 Staffel, I KGzbV, in early 1941. The g5e version was an improvement upon the Junkers Ju 52/3m g4e. It had more comprehensive radio equipment, a de-icing system that used the exhausts, provision for an interchangeable wheel ski or float landing gear, and an uprated powerplant: 3 × BMW 132T-2 radials, each rated at 830 hp (619 kW). Number built: unknown out of a total of 5,415 in 15 versions.

Lufttransportstaffel 1 was formed in February in 1942 in Travemünde/Germany. The a/c were taken mainly from KGrzbV 500, which was disbanded after the Stalingrad disaster and fitted with floats for service in the Black Sea and from April 1943 onwards in the Aegean Sea. The a/c served with factory codes or still with their former unit codes painted on. The unit could only be identified by the tactical rudder markings 'W1', which were taken over from disbanded KGrzbV Wittstock.

The basic Zvezda kit has been modified to include: Floats (carved from balsa wood) and corresponding struts (metal and plastic rod), tail struts (hole drilled through fuselage and strut pushed through for greater strength), mg’s (plastic rod) and crew in the dorsal position and both sides (1/200 scale figures), propeller discs (AA) and radio wire (hole drilled in tail, wire inserted and stretched to forward support).

There is some uncertainty regarding the squadron colour, in which the individual a/c letters were painted. There are a lot of profiles showing them in red, but after intensive comparison of original b/w photographs (and assumed by experts like Karl Kössler) it most likely was yellow.

This version was up-engined so it had more power. We have already spoke on this. I would imagine it wouldn't make it faster but probably the same as the 3mg3 and 4's.

The ships have not been used before. First time on the table as they are newly painted Japanese merchants and tankers for the Pacific.
    But thanks all the same.

1/200 éme zvezda , perfect for the Battle of Britain and a hypothetical Sealow operation.
    The markings are not historic
Besides, for a while zvezda ( and others) no longer provides swastikas with the models, it's painful, it's just history though.

I have a drawing that shows a ventral gun position on one of these. Do we want that? It would be restricted by the floats/pontoons to a tight rear arc, though.

PS: Redid the drawing with thinner floats. Preference?

I used the Eduard kit instruction drawings for a guide, and created lines for the floats in Photoshop, so they should be an exact match.
