  1. #1

Default Official Squadron Painting Thread ( Entente )

This thread is for showing off your Squadrons
Please do not make comments on the thread, I opened a comments thread for this purpose, lets leave this for painted models only.
Only stipilation is the unit can be of any number as long from the same flight and or Squadron and be a minimum of three (3) models.
so yes you can have three aircraft from the same squadron but different flights for example.
    To start us off

    Black Flight Naval 10

    Naval 9

    B Flight Naval 10

    Default Imperatorskij Voenno-Vozdusnyh Flot

These are my newest Entente repaints - Imperial Russian Nieuport 17's.

The schemes are fictional, the models are Nexus Nieuport 17's (Lufbery/Thenault and Nungesser).

And very nice they are too Jan.
With all these new birds taking to the skies, I can see that I need to get my brushes out again and put some time in.

Now they need some A-H opposition (even if it was a "what if" scenario), don't they, Jan? I know you have some D.III in repainted, wouldn't you arrange some fighting
    Great repaints

    Thank you, Rob and Andrzej.

Andrzej, would these three birds do for an opposition?

    Default Aero Squadron 22

These models are all Ares repaints from Caudou and Madon. They are from the US Aero Squadron 22. I had to do this squadron in memory of one of my first models, and Aurora Spad with these markings. That had to have been in the late 50's or early 60's. Where did all that time go?

Sorry, no squadron yet, but how about a Group? Say, 1st (Day) Bombardment Group? First built a Reviresco Breguet 14B2 in 96th Aero Squadron markings, then re-painted three Wings of War De Havilland DH-4s into the 11th Aero Squadron, 20th Aero Squadron, and the 166th Aero Squadron...

PS All four playing cards came be found in the Files Section WWI Custom Cards, Entente Powers Cards under Breguet BR 14B2 cards and Various DH4 cards http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/dow...p?do=cat&id=56

Quite real, there is a lot of info on them, Google "Showbirds" and 94th Squadron and you will find more info, there is also a link on the painting thread I did on the site here. Very interesting bit of history . . .

I did Google them and great story...however it said they did this in the Spring of 1919 which could imply they not trried to out do each other in painting a wild looking kite, they may have been celebrating that the war was over? may be?
