Very nice Mr Kyte, Sir!
May I ask what is the name of your German Alter Ego?
Two more very nice renderings of this machine chaps.
Thanks for sharing.

144SRAm
One of my all time favourite WW1 planes/schemes. I'm still considering taking the plunge and buying an SRAM kit or two. I can't see WoG getting around to this model for a while.
All very nice, but how do you sleep at night when the wing ribs show through the top wing like a starved puppy! The DVIII had a plywood skinned wing which made it very strong and distinctive for its day and design . . . btw I fell for it too!
Find the famished in my family! Clipper chowing down on left overs . . .
Just finished my Reviresco D.VIII, and posted it on this thread: What's on your workbench for August 2013.
Just paired up the model with a D.VII decal set, so not a historical paint job, at all. A quick look at the plane:
Mike
Will look fine over the trenches when the time comes Mike !
Rob,
As "requested" in another thread:
If you have more info on the pilot or Jasta, it can be fixed. Even the camo can be adjusted, if it isn't dark enough. I used the colors on the source illustration for the template, as it looked pretty close. Now that I look at the card, it may need a touch-up.
Mike
That looks superb thanks Mike, and I have a better way of getting the colours now that I am using photographic paper for the printouts.
That's another beer I owe you. Just in passing which part of the island are you on. Mrs Kyte's sister lived on the island for some time although she has just moved back to the mainland.

Rob,
Not sure what the first beer was for. I'm not keeping track. Also, not that I expect anyone to know, I'm allergic to beer. So, any suggestion of rewarding my efforts with beer is pretty much a punishment. Now, a glass of just about any wine? That is a different matter!
Just noticed that the forward fuselage on your plane is black, not green. So, that should be adjusted. I'll try a few brightness/contrast tweaks (using an adjustment layer) to tune up the camo color. I can do that while I do that fuselage touch-up, to see if I can match your plane a bit better.
All a learning curve on my software for college, in any event. All good stuff.
I live on the East side of Vancouver Island, right near the Royal Canadian Air Force base in Comox. So, about half way up the island, and three hours by road from Victoria on the very South tip. My Skype AARs show world-view pictures of where I am, too.
Mike
My sister in law was at Campbell River, but is now back in Vancouver.
As for the beer I will alter it to wine for you if we ever do get to meet in person.

Hi Mike, I too am allergic to beer!!! it is the hops that are the problem for me. Have you ever tried English cider? It is served in pints like beer, but is up to twice the alcohol content so only one or two pints is plenty. My favourite is Henry Westons Vintage at 8.2% by vol. Not for the faint hearted
Sorry I missed this, John.
Used to drink a lot of Strongbow when I lived in Germany many years back. My taste buds have changed, though, and now trying other brands, including Magners, and some local stuff. Good for a hot afternoon of lawn work!
Mike
Lets keep on subject please chaps !
I finally made the cards for these.
Thanks Mike (oldguy59) for designing the cards. I printed on sticky paper and stuck them over some duplicate cards I had.

Nice job Ian.

Great planes all of you! The D.VIII is similar to the D.VII and the Dr.I.
Thanks
Nick
Looking at the gorgeous paintjobs above I am humbly asking you not to run down the D.VIII I have just got from Shapeways and turned into a fantasy pair of "Blood and Emerald Wolves Patrol". Totally fictious, but easy to paint . These are part of my large September project.
Please be kind and forgive the usual flaws that a digital camera reveals with no mercy...

Great pair Andrzej! This combination - green and red - looks awesome!
Thanks
Nick
Thank you chaps The wolves's heads are from WH40K decals sheets...

Wolf pack is great Andy. What sector are you about to unleash those into?

Very nice paintjobs on two delicate looking planes. Great job, Andrzej!
Really like them both! I don't have any DVIIIs yet - Series 9?
Trouble is I don't like Shapeways - I just can't seem to get rid of the speckly bobbling all over the things! Only 5 or six coats of paint do the job, even after sanding and soaking the mini beforehand, and I just don't have time for that!
Too many minis to paint up!!!

Yet another nice rendition Chris.
You have dealt with the diamond decal wrap very neatly.
Well done again.

Here is anoter pair of my D VIIIs, this time in Polish colours of Polish-Soviet War 1919/20, when about 10 of those were captured in Zeppelin Halle in Poznań after the Great War. Some of them bore a typical lozenge fuselage camo, while others were repainted in overall green on the upper surfaces and light blue on lower parts. I was too lazy to apply lozenge design, so chose the green/blue scheme, more or less resembling the plane of Lt. Stec with horizontal S individual sign.
Of course the individual markings are fantasy, as well as my Love's name on the wing
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
And I was just about to ask about markings! Great work!
What a charming and romantic gesture to put the light of your life's name on your aircraft, just like the knights of the sky used to Andy.

This probably goes here, I didn't see an E.V thread
"On the afternoon of August 12, two Fokker E.V (E.164/18 and 165/18) landed at Vlissighem, to be added to the Seefrosta fleet. Each squadron received one of the modern and much-admired aircraft." Seefrosta, Schmeelke, p105.
Leutnant d.R.MA Paul Achilles and Flugmeister Albin Buhl take to the air to hunt DH4s, DH9s, and Camels.
No specific images, these are my interpretations. Repainted Sharons. Some of the Vallejo model colors used: mahogany brown, red leather, english uniform, royal purple, black, luftwaffe camo green, russian uniform ww2, pale grey blue, vallejo game color pale yellow.
Decals were painted around on one, on the other miscmini for the large balkenkreuzen.

Nice and neat, cameo on the body looks good.
Very pretty!
I like 'em!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Nice additions to your growing Seefrosta.
Thanks all!
