Bang up job on that one, Rob!
I went with Gillet's, since he's a hometown guy.
(I'm going to have to take some new photos, now that I have a new camera.)
My Dolphin
Rob, Great job on the Reviresco kit! Lloyd
I seem to recognise that plane Chris.
Thanks for the approval of my effort Lloyd.
Rob.
Beautiful paint job, especially the pilots
Wow...you've got mad skills Peter, the detail on the pilots is exceptional!
Thanks guys. These were somewhat easy as there is no camo or fancy scheme in coloring. Can't wait to do some of those!
Real beauties Peter - one of my favourites - great skills displayed.
I have merged your thread with the existing one....
Sapiens qui vigilat... "He is wise who watches"
An excellent piece of workmanship Peter.
Those PP pilots stand out as an exceptional highlight.

As others have said, those pilots are outstanding,
mine are just brown blobs
Some outstanding work there chaps. Especially the chequers & that pilot! (those goggles are amazing!)
Anyway here is my humble effort. Not in the same class as most of those above!

You have done a great job there Peter. I'm very impressed with the quality once again.
Rob.

I really like the all green nose there Barry. I have only found pics with the gray/white nose. I should think outside of the box a bit more. Now I'll have to get at least one more Dolphin!
In my last photo you can make out the white scarf on the pilot. Keeping the Peter Pig scarf was high on my want list but not easy to fit in the Dolphin. My other 3 Dolphin pilots have no scarf. I'll have to make sure not to sent them up in bad weather.
Excellent work, all of you!

Dolphins were used by our Polish Air Forces during Polish-Soviet War 1920.
They were shipped from Britain in April 1920 in two cargo ships:
1/4/1920,"Neptun", 6 planes: J153, J162, J169, J178, J181,J7128,
21/4/1920,"Warszawa" 4 planes: J39, 151, F7120, E4815.
The kites were used by 19th squadron in defence against Soviet troops invading Poland and attacking Warsaw. 15 succesful ground attack missions flown are reported. After the battle of Warsaw only one Dolphin (side no. 21.04) remained operational. They say no photos of the Dolphins in Polish service exist, however in the book (link below) there are probably two of them published.
After necessary repairs the Dolphins were offered to the 7th American VolunteerSquadron led by Mjr. Cedric Faunt le Roy, but he refused the offerstating his pilots preferred Oefags and Balillas they were using.
These planes did not enjoy a good reputation among pilots, but I find the episode of their post Great War service worth remembering, thus my humble effort to recall them to our gaming life.
According to some plates there was a ground to paint them in some kind of dark khaki, named Polish Khaki I (by Pactra). The scheme is quite probable, for many of mid wars Polish warplanes were painted in that particular colour.
Fly safe my Dolphins and keep the hordes of evil at bay!

This is the colour plate from Aircraft Profiles page was the one I used as a painting guide.

Coming down is the hardest thing
Beautiful work, Andrzej!
I love all the Dolphin models here! Such a neat looking plane - one I've wanted to add a couple of example of to my aerodrome, eventually...
Wonderful job, all
All the best,
Matt

Excellent Dolphins Ian!
Did you paint them all together "on porpoise"?
Such amazing Dolphins... this thread reminds me why the Dolphin is one of my all-time faves!
Thanks for the great comments.
John, these were some of your Shapeways designs so thank you for making these possible.
