Awesome - wish I still had steady hands to do this.
I was a member of Jasta 18 years ago in a group that played the Red Baron 3D PC game.

Lovely job!
Must get mine done (someday!)
Very well done Alex.
Those Reviresco decals sometimes make me wonder why I spend all this time making my own.
They are so good.

That is beautiful work Alex!
Definitely deserving of REP!
Thanks for your comments, guys.
@Nicola
He,he,...I've only posted those pics which made them appear like "professional looking model work"
There are no real fix points for the cabane struts and it was a nerve-racking job to fix them.
When building the next Valom D.VII's, I'll drill 0.5mm holes to the fuselage and will replace
the PE parts with brass wire.
@Rob
The Reviresco decals are really nice, but they didn't stick very well to the model.
(At least, mine did not. Probably a matter of age and storage conditions.)
I had to use Mark Softner or Micro Sol, dull cote and diluted glue multiple times
to keep them fixed, before applying the final layer of dull cote.
Cheers
Alex
Thanks. That's useful info. When building the Valom SE5a's that's what I did. I've decided not the build the Valom DVII - I found the SE5a's a lot of work. So, instead, I've ordered the Ares white DVII and I'm going to use the Valom decals to make it a bit more colourful.
I've built 4 Valom DVIIs, and have used the PE struts for all of them.
I didn't drill holes in the fuselage; I glued the top end of the cabane struts into the upper wing, then, before the glue dried, I put a touch of superglue on the bottom end of the struts, and pushed them against the fuselage sides. No new holes needed.
The top wing had already been glued to the lower wing - a dab of Araldite glue on all 8 interplane strut attachment points, and allow the wing to set solid before beginning the cabane strut assembly.
Stunning, Tim! And REP.
Many thanks, Joaquim!
Glad you like them.
Stay tuned - more coming soon!
But...where are the green strips on the tail? Nice job, Tim
More exotic aircraft from the Timbo workshops, or should I say Flugzeugfabrik.

Green stripes..........are you perchance referring to my Avatar?
I have an extra "Saschenberg" DVII set aside for that scheme, but it may be called into service for another project instead.
I hope to replace my Avatar with my personal scheme "Steffi"; I have painted the mini
and Mike (OldGuy59) did a super plane card for me
but I can't sort out the Avatar
Tim,
You can download the avatar image from my "Odds & Ends" album (Link: Steffi Avatar).
Go to your Profile page, click on Settings at the top-right, and on the left side, "Edit Avatar".
Click on the second section "Custom Avatar", and use Option 2 to load your saved avatar to your profile.
That should do it.

This is splendid, Tim! And I like your plans to do more for various 'mounts' throughout the war. Gives me ideas for something similar, one of these days
All the best,
Matt
truely awesome painting
Fantastic job Tim! And Mike!
Spectacular! A wonderful job, Tim!
Thanks Chris! Glad you like 'em.
Fantastic as usual Tim.
Hi Tim -- you've probably mentioned it before, but I'll ask anyway.... where do your backdrops come from? Those really add a lot to the photos! (Not to mention the wonderful paint jobs.)
The foreground grass is a Games Workshop battle mat.
The middle distance is a set of Barbed wire strips and trenches in 10mm scale, bought completed from ebay.
The far distance is a pair of ploughed fields, made from corrugated cardboard and painted and flocked, flanked by K & M trees based on woodland bases.
The background is a model railway paper backdrop - this one has fields and hills; I have another which is just blue sky with white clouds. The backdrop is about 28 inches long by 10 inches high - others are available, including towns or mountains, but the fields seemed like the best choice for the Western Front. Each one came from ebay, for around Ł2 each, post free!

Now Ł4 with free postage - blast these price rises!
Bravo! Brilliant work everyone. I love coming to this thread and just browsing through the pictures. The planes are colorful, look professionally done, and are well photographed. I wish I had many of them in my arsenal. You should all be proud!
2 more Great Jasta 18 planes Tim. Do you have them all yet?
3 more on the workbench as of today - that will be all the Fokker DVIIs I know of (11 in all!)
1 Hanover CL hack just added to the April '18 rosta - I might be able to top up the early 'Raben' Jasta with one or two more Albatros DVas at some point (I have at least 1 in mind!)
Can't wait to see a photo with all 12 in flight.
I could see these red & white beauties in action at Doncaster. Great repaints, Tim.

Very prolific Tim and not a sail in sight too.....
See you on the Dark Side......
I think I've said it before, but seriously gorgeous Ravens
