Nightbomber's chaps are already playing cards and watching centerfolds under the USS Yorktown's deck.

VF-8 under the command of Lieutenent Commander Robert Schneider (ace) ready for action!

It's a fighter squadron with Grumman F4F-3 & F4F-4 "Wildcat" planes on board of CV 8 USS HORNET / Task Force 16 near the Midway Islands.

You're right! I didn't laugh when I lost my contact lens But our Flying Officer Kyte idea is nice. Go to the bar, Sven!

Shame - don't think my 109s will be any use for this campaign.

And well done Rob for upholding racial stereotypes. To quote Benny Hill: "Waiter, this duck is rubbery". "Ah, thank you velly much".

    Walks to bar, humming:

    Vor der Kaserne,
    Vor dem großen Tor,
    Stand eine Laterne,
    Und steht sie noch davor,
So woll'n wir uns da wieder seh'n,
Bei der Laterne wollen wir steh'n,
    Wie einst, Lili Marleen.

    Unsere beiden Schatten,

    Deinen zieren Gang.
    Alle Abend brennt sie,
    Doch mich vergaß sie lang.
Und sollte mir ein Leid gescheh'n,
Wer wird bei der Laterne steh'n,
    Mit dir, Lili Marleen!

    Aus dem stillen Raume,
    Aus der Erde Grund,
    Hebt mich wie im Traume
    Dein verliebter Mund.
Wenn sich die späten Nebel dreh'n,
Werd' ich bei der Laterne steh'n
    Wie einst, Lili Marleen

    Thumbs up

Somehow those pics of Yanks & Japs makes me think of the Movie 1941.
