    Default Albatros DI

    Good day everyone,

I've been on the road somewhat recently, so I had a chance to get this one finished up. I messed up the location of the radiator expansion tank (I think that is what it is called), it should be offset to the left of the plane (looking forward), not centered on top of the cylinders. Oh well, overall I am very happy with this one. It is a repaint of an Eric Johnson 1/72 scale card model. Next up, one of these modified to make it a DII!

    Thanks guys,

Lee, I gobbled up all of Eric's models available from Der Kampfflieger, bu I remade this one using a vector graphics program so I could repaint it. This is the first I built and I liked how it went together, the design was simple, no excellsive number of parts for our scale, and to me it manages to capture the curves of the design, which is no small feat given the subject. The next one of his I am going to repaint will probably be the Sopwith Pup, and someday I will make my way to the DH5 and the Aviatik. I vectorized the DH4, just haven't gotten around to building one as one was available at the time through WoW.

Beautiful job! I especially like how the nose spinner came out. The smooth curves of the fuselage are something I am envious of as well!
