    Default Another WHAT IS IT

OK My research assistant came up with this photo. I could ID the country but wasn't sure what plane it is. I know what it is now but thought I would share this first.

Here is another pic of the plane. I knew it was German but that was as far as I got until I looked it up.

It´s a Blohm und Voss BV 141 - short range reconnaissance aircraft.

Build only in two short pre-series the projeckt was canceled in 1943.

Powered by a BMW 801 engine with 1560 hp it reacht only 370 km/h on sealevel.
    range 1200 km
    cre 3
two MG 17 in the front
    two flexible MG 15 afterwards

The real question is where the hell did the rest of it go?

Yes it is a BV141. They were used on the Eastern front and from what I read BV had some strange designs.

    Obviously a Bv 141.

About 20 built, and in operational service. The main problem was that the Fw189 was nearly as good, and the 141's engine was the same as the Fw190, and was in short supply.

Blohm und Voss had a number of similar configuration designs, but the 141 was the only one that saw service.

It's a good job clipper only does early stuff. Or he might do this cruise-missile carrier.

Yes, the pilots had ejector seats.

The influence on Soviet thought is obvious.

Blimey, I can remember knocking one of those up as a kid - box has changed, so has the price!
