Thread: tamiya putty and water sand-paper?

  1. #1

Default tamiya putty and water sand-paper?

Has anyone tried to brush a lightly diluted coat of tamiya putty on a WSF model and then use a water sand paper to eliminate (or at least reduce) the knitted look of the plane?
if so, how did it worked out?

I used Squadron white putty, followed by an emery board. Then used a round file to produce the correct curves. Results not quite as good as a well-printed model.

I still prefer the 4 coat's of spray varnish method Zoe told me about, for me I would not use any other method.

I haven't done the varnish but have used mr surfacer 800 and 1200 and sanded for hours. a much better looking surface but a hell of a lot of work for WSF.
