Just a quick note to let everyone know we had great time Wednesday night & managed to get a "practice" game in before our scheduled events today. Keith (Herr Oberst), Todd (Pseudotheist) & I flew D. Va's vs. Ken (the Cowman), Tom (Cappy Tom) & Steve (Guntruck) flying Camels. The Brits ruled the skies leaving me as the lone surviving Albatross. (maybe because I ran after being severely damaged & losing both of my wingmen). It was great meeting everyone!
Thursday's event all went very well and everyone who participated had a great time. I'm sure some more detailed accounts (yes...including pictures) will follow when we have time!
It was nice to meet some of you late today.(Friday) Keith and company were cleaning up, while I think there was a 6 player game was still going down that looked interesting. Bummer you are not able to sell your goods on site. I'll have to get an order placed online here, but it was nice to see your stuff first hand. Still can't believe no one had any minis for sale at the convention, was really looking forward to getting the bombers. Oh well, looked like a great time to be had by all. Wish I would of had more time to join in and bring my stuff to play really looked great. Nice maps by the way. - Cheers.
Posted a new album of Origins Pics, will add captions later!

Several pics are of the booth I was running & the Infamous wall that collapsed on top of me!
It was nice meeting you as well Michael, what all events did you get to play in?
Tommy, some nice photos in there! I'll have to try and get mine sorted and uploaded in the next day or so as well.
Had another great time with all you boys - and even got me hubby to play!
Already looking forward to seeing you all next year - thanks again for a great time!
Here are some photos of my Bombing of London event.
All setup for the game
It's an early morning Thursday event, so I end up with only three players. Guntruck (center) is flying the two Gothas and Pseudotheist (on the right) is flying the pair of RNAS 9 Camels. I don't recall the other player's name that is flying the Barker and Elwood Camels.
The scouts bear down on the bombers who have been using the clouds as cover along their route. The two Gothas in the back ground are not being used in the game.
As with every bomber event I run at a Con, the first shot of the game was an explosion on the lead bomber!
With only one Gotha left flying, the scouts swarm it!
It manages to fly the remaining 4 feet down the table and a third Gotha arrives with a Pfalz D.III escort. These two make it down the table unopposed and the escort breaks off to help out the other Gotha.
The second Gotha ends up flying off the table and Barker decides to have a closer look at the Pfalz, while the remaining Gotha sets a Camel on fire.
Barker is still trying to line up a shot on the Pfalz and the Gotha sets the other RNAS 9 Camel on fire as well!
None of the bombers could get lined up on their targets, so no bombs were dropped. The British claim a resounding success!
Both of the RNAS 9 Camels were lucky damage wise through out the game, but the pilot of this one requested R&R to Vegas right after the game!
This apparently was some type of WWII game put on by CappyTom
Tom is in the green shirt, top left. Ken The Cowman is sitting down (center top), Pseudotheist can just barely be seen in the top right corner, and TommyZ is sitting down to his left with the all tan ball cap on.
Guntruck's Zeppelin Hanger Raid event was very popular.
And action filled!
The German defenders finally get to grips with the invaders.
We are now getting a veritable feast of pictures fom Origins thanks chaps.
That RNAS plane nearly beat our Triples record for the most cards Keith.
Rob.
I was forced to play a WWII game by Tom... what a bully!
I'm on the far left with Old Navy standing in the back. The young man was new to Wings of Glory and I believe that was David in the yellow shirt (not sure if he is on the site?)
We make first contact and Old Navy realizes that if he is Navy, he should be in the drink!! Leaving me to play with two 109s all by my self for a several turns.
I spend a couple of turns trading fire with the 109 pilots and shortly after Old Navy rejoins the fight in a fresh plane, I get the Coup de grâce on the David.
With only one turn left in the game and a fresh 109 bearing down on me (trapped against the edge of the map too!), I decide it's better to live and fight another day and bug out while I still can.
This is The Cowman's Eye of the Needle event (I think).
And Jager's bombing mission.
We had our 2nd Annual Origins dinner at the 94th Aerodrome restaurant.
From left to right, standing:
Guntruck, Jager, The Cowman, CappyTom, Old Navy, Oberst Hajj, Pseudotheist, and Misdomingo.
Kneeling:
TommyZ and IBERIAN SHADOW
They had this photo on the wall and none of us could figure out what it was. Anyone know?
My second Zeppelin Spotted mission.
All setup for the players.
My first zeppelin game was fairly one sided as the players made quick work of the gas bags inside the zeppelin. The zeppelin also got few shots at the planes and when it did, no real damage was done. This was not the case for the second game! The zeppelin gunners were hitting and setting the enemy planes on fire left and right!
Most of the players were shot down 3 times, with the exception of Alex (the little guy on the left) who was flying my Cpt. Harry S. Gwinne Neiuport 17.
To add more excitement to the game and keep those 17s out of my dead zones, a shark in the form of an Albatros D.Va joined the battle. But it turned out he as not really needed as the zeppelin shot down 3 or 4 planes he was headed for before he could get there!
Remember Alex from above, he turned out to be one lucky git flying around in a fish!
Yep, that's 17 cards, 9 of them 0's! Not quite as many as at the UK Triples Con, but on a 12 point Nieuport, that's pretty dang lucky!! He was the only one not to be shot down two or more time!
Yes Herr Oberst.
It always seems to be the youngsters who have the luck of the Irish.
More wonderful pictures thanks.
Rob.
The 1st Annual Wings of Glory Aerodrome Invitational was a big success with a total of 14 players. The players were divided into Entente and Central Powers. Each side was given three planes for use in the tourney. When your plane was shot down, you came back into the game a full turn later with the next plane on your side's list. Here is how the planes broke down on each side:
Entente
Nieuport 17
SPAD XIII
SE5a
Central Powers
Fokker Dr.I
Albatros D.Va
Fokker D.VII
For each plane a player shot down, they received 3 points. If they were shot down, they lost 4 points. Leaving the game surface had zero effect on points.
The two sides face off.
That's a lot of maneuvering!
And that's a lot of burning planes!
A target rich environment for this Dr.I... and yes, that is a D.VII coming on the table amongst all those Nieuport 17s!
The battle rages on...
In the end, CappyTom proved the victor lasting the entire 3.5 hour game in his little Nieuport 17!
Pseudotheist took second, still flying his Dr.I.
And Jager rounded out the top 3, finishing in a SPAD XIII.
Of special note was Alex "The Flying Fish" (from the Zeppelin game earlier) finishing in the top 5!
Pictures of all of the winners and some more shots of the games can be seen in my Origins 2012 album.
To wrap up the events at the Con, Guntruck presented the Buckeye Games In Flight with his scratch built zeppelin and hangar. I know their group will get some good use out of it.
As a little gift to Guntruck, all of the Aerodrome members signed the back of one of Game On mats supplied by IBERIAN SHADOW for him to take back with him. Not a bad souvenir I think!
A very nice gesture all round chaps.
I have enjoyed following your reportage of this convention very much.
Rob.
I said that I never really play WWII since I like WWI better... not that I could not fly! lol
Nice pics all round. I'll add a few once I find out what I did with SWMBO's camera.....
Congratulations to Keith, Tom & all the Buckeyes!
What a great turn you all put on.
Looked like some great games & I really liked your mats & Guntruck's Zep Hanger.
Hope you get some new recruits for the Forum.
Very cool! If I wasn't taking the family to Disney World this year...
Maybe next year...
(Though I've said that how many years now?)
It looks like you guys had a great time. Wish I could have been there.
I took a few pictures myself and have added them all to the album located here.
Here are a few sneak peeks...

On Saturday, next to our Area, I happened to capture some pictures of a rousing game of Smurf Wars:
...And of course there was the big tournament:
Nice one Ken.
It looks as if my future is going to be blue.
Rob.
Outstanding pics Ken.
My Origins Scavenger Hunt
In addition to several Wings of War WWII planes that we found for $5.00 each. I picked up a copy of Watch Your Back for $10.00. I was also able to find a supply of F-toys WWI planes. I picked up 2 of each Spad VII and 2 of each Albatross DIII. We found a rare Baracca Spad VII as we were opening the boxes, he actually asked me if I wanted that too!

Nice one Tommy!
Yes indeed Tommy.
Well done that man.
Kyte.
Caught my good side, I see!
Faboo pics! Can't wait until next year - thanks to everyone for a great time!
Thanks for sharing the pics chaps - Good to see everyone having a good time !
I would just like to point out that Keith is mistaken (above) in that I (referred to as David) was shot down by him. Arrant nonsense, but then fighter pilot claims are always inflated...
I wasn't shot down, it was young Matt who came all the way from Martha's Vineyard who went down. This happened after I had shot down another Spitfire and we were on the verge of leaving the board. I told Mat that we were up (one confirmed one damaged) and that we should leave, he wanted to go back into the fight, so we did. Fun game in any case. My lck was od for the week, I damaged everything is sight with no kills, and managed to get the dreaded engine chit in every single game.
I would like to thank Luis for donating mats for prizes and for all the events. I really enjoyed using them and with the mat finish there was no glare. Luis thank you very much. Your the best buddy.
But I will still shot you down if I find you flying on the other side...
Thomas
SMURF WARS! Love it...so any idea onhow they did that??
Umm, if I recall you did a sharp port turn and evaded me by flying off the board (now I think I was bringing in a fresh Me 109E after flying off the edge myself), but so what?
I think this was a just for fun game, but Cappy Tom did explode Luis on his first burst.
If you guys are running next year, I will be there for more fun. Plus I want to shoot down Luis because of his atrocious Kentucky accent.
