Today's therapy projects, nice 83 F degrees outside, great for curing silver spray enamel . . . otherwise we stay inside to cut patterns . . .

A wide range of victims for the elves . . .
All very nice work
Again can't wait to see the finished product.
Well, EBGRoDD (Evil Black & Green Rifle of Dooming Death) is mechanically complete, but still on the bench waiting for a few finishing touches...
--procure and install Blast Deflector
--procure timing washers and install new flash-arresting brake
--install rail section and foregrip/bipod/light unit
--install forward sling mount upon arrival
--install folding grip and ambi safety
--paint and install handguard covers
And then...
--research and spec out His & Hers M16/C7 or M4/C8 "service-rifle clone" set for the GF
--procure jigs and router for completing 80% receivers
Oh, you mean Wings/Sails...
--find CAD-modeler who can convert Greenwich draughts into 3d models, then carve them up into individual components for part-manufacturing on SGN108, 201, 111 and 112 hull replacements
Got a couple of Costes Strutters for m'birthday a few days ago for the purpose of single seat bomber conversion..this is what I managed to roll out of the hangar after a couple of days:
Attachment 216819
Removed the rear gun, lopped the head from the gunner & filled with green putty which was rubbed down when dry then painted with Revell 42 Olive Yellow on all the upper surfaces.
Attachment 216820
Struts, props & tails skid in an old GW Snakenite Leather, roundels from Dom's Decals.
Attachment 216821
Undersides done in GW Screaming Skull (used to be Bleached Bone) for cdl finish.
This was an easy conversion if you are considering one. The filling did not come out quite as smooth as I wanted but it doesn't detract from the finished article & those with more experience will get a better result I'm sure.
Now have another bombing option to put on the table !
Nicely done Dave for the paint job and conversion.
Nice job on the Sopwiths Dave, I would REP you but the powers that be say I have already given you too much this month.
Nice Sopwiths, Dave!
On my virtual workbench I have a somewhat obscure plane. Only 90 were built, and they were only used in the second half of 1917. Any guesses?
Attachment 217126
it looks (to me, that is) to be a Caudron, can find only the R.11, which doesn't have a tri-cycle landing gear and has a different nose, but the other parts of the plane seem to match, .... :hmm:
cheers,
Guus :salute:
Stumped as well;
Karl
It's a Morane-Saulnier Type T. Ninety of them were made for long-range reconnaissance, but what might have been a decent plane in 1916 kept getting delayed, and by their premier in August 1917 they were already pretty much obsolete. Nevertheless they served in small numbers alongside Caudron G.6's, Caudron R.4's, and the like, though never in large enough numbers to form their own escadrille.
Ah, learned something new again, thanks.
cheers,
Guus :salute:
Although I still have half a dozen current Wings of Glory projects on the go the recent purchase of a 'Classic Battletech Introductory Boxed Set' has resulted in a workbench invasion by 31st Century war machines!
Attachment 217252
Some of these old boys have not seen the light of day for almost 20 years, so I am touching up, painting and basing to get them back into operational condition.
As you can see, Wings of Glory was not my first miniature gaming obsession :minis:
Except for the primed plastic miniatures on the right from the recent Introductory Boxed Set everything there was purchased last century. All those you mentioned plus Thunderbolts (my personal favourite), Archers, Griffins, Phoenix Hawks, Shadow Hawks, Crusaders, Riflemen, Wolverines, etc., even a Goliath.
It is just a crime to leave them boxed - they need table time!
Sad to say, I am still doing repaints for X-Wing! 3 Green squadron A-Wings today!

Here pictured with the captured Tie fighter of Sabine Wren!
Not a fan of the _T-Bolt_ -- too many different guns, and overheats like a mofo. I was always partial to the _Shadow Hawk_; few things are as fun as scoring a kill by moving 8 hexes every turn, so the opponent keeps missing his shots, gets frustrated, tries a couple alpha-strikes, and ends up overheating and blowing up his ammo. Table-Flip in 5, 4, 3.... >;)
Received the Crooked Dice "Great Ape" figure on Saturday and glued him together right away - last night I finally had a chance to fill the two seams (head and right arm are separate pieces). Here he is with a Jasta 19 Fokker DrI...
Attachment 217415
...while this is a close-up of the ape itself...
Attachment 217416
...and here you have him again with the DrI along with a 1 EURO coin for size reference.
Attachment 217417
It's a beautifully done figure - and I think from a scale perspective (judging on Kong's size in the Peter Jackson version of the movie) he's about right - a 1/144 supine blonde would fit enticingly into his paw...
I look forward to making a top of a tall building for him to stand on, and I have a couple of ideas that might make his three-point stance seem a bit more lively.
All the best,
Matt
Matt, you might check out N-scale (1:160) model railroad figures from Preiser.
Thanks, DB, for reminding me - someone earlier in another post mentioned that...I shall check Preiser's online lists and see what looks good...perhaps an N-scale woman in an evening dress is out there somewhere...
All the best,
Matt
Nothing special but here are 2 ZVEZDA 1/144 Battles.

Once again taken with the cell and they come out sideways.
you sound like a buddy of mine. he always used to bring in hoards of smaller mechs to the point that, even if i won initiative, itd still loose because hed just move some non involved mechs elsewhere (often hiding at the bottom of a lake) so id be forced to move my big guys (i like big mechs, and you other jocks cant deny.....) already engaged. so i cured him of that by mining the bottom of the lake!
i always liked designing my own. many of the book mechs seemed highly flawed to me (ie ammo in a torso with no heat sinks or anything to soak up the crit hits {BOOM}).
one of my favorite mods was replacing the ac 5 , and srms on a shadow hawk a ppc and med lasers.
This only happens when I use the cell phone. Gives me a reason to get a new camera other that the DSLR one I have. I save them to the PC and they look ok but when I download them they come out upside down. last time was when I took the picture sideway.
I have to do something for the canopy ribs. I didn't do anything to highlight them but just wanted to post some pics of the Battle.
There is a set entitled "Party-goers with waiter" which has a couple of gals in long dresses (ala the blonde in the Peter Jackson version at the end of the movie...) that would be very workable...I think I shall have to order it in the near future...;)
I'm excited about developing a building-top to make Kong seem more 'active'...I really do like the size of this figure, even if he isn't quite the 'eye candy' one might want for the King Kong scenario...
All the best,
Matt
"I got that beat -- I got that beat...."
I played Outworlds Alliance. OA is big on Air Power -- their aerospace forces are twice as big as their 'Mech forces. I applied this thinking to Vehicles as well, and built many VTOLs; guess what happens to the to-hit numbers when your unit moves 10 hexes at "walk/cruise"? Oh, and since lances are rated solely by weight, not number of units (for ex.: some of the "short lances" seen in merc units in early products; later, "Delta Company", Marian maniples, Clan Stars, and such)... well, guess how many 10-ton SRM-armed VTOLs one can fit into an "assault lance"?
No, our battle cry was not "SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM, SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM, LOVELY SPAM, WONDERFUL SPAM..." :)
And when SL Tech came along, and I figured out how to put a Gauss cannon on a VTOL -- "Clan Invasion? What Clan Invasion? They all got decapitated weeks ago." >:)
My _Shadow Hawk_: 5/8/5 move; PPC LT; ML RA. Command unit for a LRRP mixed battalion (1 Medium 'Mech lance; 2 Vehicle lances; 1 Jump INF platoon; 2 Motor INF platoons; 2 Foot INF platoons; 1 Artillery platoon; 1 Aerospace lance; 3 Dropships). Our mission: "To seek out Lowlifes and Non-Civilized Folks, and boldly kill them in ways no one has been killed before!" >;)

uuuuuggghhhhm i hated aerospace (even though my 1st game kill was a LAM).
sounds like we think alike as far as vehicles. my favorite is a ppc armed 50tn hover called the "ramm dodge" (you can probably see where this is going) that was basically a shock absorbed with an enormous front armor plate. 10/15 movement does wonders for charging damage!!! i used its basic design to mount many different weapons loadouts (before id heard of that term lol) before they made rules limiting how many and what kinds of weapons you could mount (wwaaaayyyyy back in the day). the "vulcan" model was "interesting". as may machine guns as i could shoehorn into the turret (50 i think). sure it only had 1/2/3 range but whats that matter when your movements 10/15.
i also had a few FLFs (fast little 'effers') before they made the lower weight limit on vehicles 5 tns. i had one unarmed/unarmored hover that was basically a scout/pilot recovery vehicle that had a flank speed of something like 128!!!! and a 5 tonner with a SL with a flank speed in the 30-40 range.
and then theres the "buzzard". a vtol troop transport (jump anti mech infantry) with a downward facing ac20. yes you could say i liked my vehicles!
sounds a lot like mine hawk except that i also had mls in the head and left arm (basically, like many of my mech designs it had a long range set of weapons and a short range set of weapons).
pounded into snail snot no doubt lol!!!
We are getting a bit off topic here ..... but what the heck, we all like 'mechs!
My BT crew were big on combined arms tactics like use of fast hover tanks to screen and flank, assault pioneers laying minefields, LRM carriers for indirect fire support (one lance can kill a 'mech a round easy).
Ladies and Gentlemen,
as promised at the start of this thread: two Fokker T.V aerocruisers/light bombers of 1. BomVa, Luchtvaartafdeling (1st Bomber Squadron), Royal Netherlands Army Air Force), Schiphol Airbase, May 1940.
