Good news.
I'm ready to invest for 6 - 7 planes. :money:
I want two of the D.IIIs and all of the RE8s... sigh it could be an expensive month - mind you god knows how long before any UK stockists have any of them available
I want them all.
I'll have my usual "one of each", then go on from there.......................
Getting my order ready. The finger is on the order button.
I have one of those Muromets in Balsa. Seeing a few together makes me think how ugly they were. Too used to streamlined beauties these days. :)
Oh boy, another 12 planes to make room for! :minis::money:
Series 3 reprints are now up on the AA site for pre-orders. Make sure to read the Details for the special offers... supplies are limited!

Ordered 2xUFAG, 2xD.III, 2xN17 and one B-firing Aviatik for a nice repaint. :)
Needed to hold off a little bit, because Ares Games announced some new SoG ships. :money:
Those aircraft management counters are killer, Keith!:sAprvd::sAprvd::sAprvd:
And the new planes don't look too bad, either...;)
I shall have to order soon, too!
All the best,
Matt

Actually Chris, I have the SS in a drawer somewhere. I only bring it out after dark. :)
Thank you, Sam.
If someone who buys the whole 12 can post an unboxing thread detailing the optional rule cards I will update the FAQ & PoI thread with the new releases. :thankyou:
Thanks Bob - Great job on that document by the way.
Dave.....thanks! It's been a labor of love for many years, and the least I can do to support this great game. It started for personal use over 10 years ago, and it seemed a natural addition once the Oberst was up and running with the Aerodrome. Over the years, I have had a lot of great edits from folks that review it, so it has had a huge editorial board
I just went to do a pre order and received a warning that this is a PHISHING site and not recommended to got to it. Never had this happen before when ordering here. Anyone else have this notice pop up ?
WOW finally let me in to place my order. Never had that happen before and have ordered many times before.
Never happened to me.
 Me neither!
No it looks too dark based on the photographs I've seen of the real aircraft. It's featured in a good picture in one of the Osprey books – I'm not sure which one but I can find the page reference if you want to know. I might airbrush mine a lighter blue. In the photograph it looks about the colour ARES have used on the Albatross C1 and the MVR Roland. However, I've seen that some modellers building and painting plastic kits finish Blue Maus with a colour that is about the same shade as this ARES model. Google DIII Blue Maus to see various interpretations. That written the image of the model in the box on Facebook looks so much better than the test shot on ARES web site.
I'm interested to see a picture of the MVR DIII and to know what colour they have done it under the wings. Are these models using the original S3 tooling?
I want to decide which DIII(s) I will buy a pile of for stock to repaint. This is going to be an expensive release for me but I've not bought any models for ages so I don't mind. Four Nieuports, perhaps a couple of RE8s and lots of DIIIs.
The F-toys 1/144 scale model of the Blau Maus is a lighter blue but it may be the lighting on the photograph that makes the Ares one look darker.
Here is a picture of the F-toys model.

In the Osprey book – Jagdstaffel 2 'Boelcke' there are two clear photographs of 'Blaue Maus'. In both pictures it appears to be very pale blue. The author's notes on this aircraft describe it as pale blue. I'd say the F-Toys interpretation of the photographs of the real aircraft is much closer than the Ares version, if perhaps a bit too pale. I repainted 'Voss' since they got the wing colours very wrong and I suspect I'll respray Blaue Maus to get closer to my interpretation of the photographic evidence. I think it'll look a more refined model in a lighter blue. A shame really when there are good photographs to work from and if it had been in a lighter blue it would have made a good model to use as a basis for repaints.
I'm not sure what we'll get with the MVR DIII. From their website it looks as if it has a dark brown body with red wings and tail. Again it's hard to fathom which aircraft this is based on. The F Toys rendition is close to one of the known MVR DIIIs with a red body and tail plus camo wings. In this scheme it is ideal to repaint into various known Jasta 11 schemes. It appears there was also an overall red one, possibly with light blue under the wings and tailplane.
True to form ARES have never really got their heads around the Albatross fighters which should be amongst the most 'candy' colourful models in any collection. Given how much reference is available to work from this is hard to understand. However, I remain very pleased they are doing the re-run.
No, the offer is still going and I just added all the items to my cart and it showed the discount. Did you by chance try to make this order before and not complete the process? The site will only allow you to get the discount once... I'm wondering if the site is confused about you already getting it.
Preorder placed for some of the minis. Ufags that I already own have not seen many actions so far, so do not see to increase their numbers;), but Nieuports and new D.IIIs schemes are a nice addition.
