    Thanks for the reply and the posting at theaerodrome.com. I note that the feedback so far doesn't seem too promising. I've just noticed that in the picture the male in question is holding a dog in his right arm. Now if only we could track down the dog!!!

    I've just taken a look at the pictures you've posted. Out of interest, I believe that in the picture of the 3 German Iron Cross recipients (page 2 photo 3) the pilot on the left is Lothar von Richthofen. Take a look here as a comparison - http://www.frontflieger.de/ricma/1917_06_mit_lothar.jpg
