09:00 am We formed a strong wing with the Polish pilots and are on our way to the Warboss game store in Prague.
We had to change location due to more than 30 players at this day.

I took a picture of a nice old house on the way.

10:15 am The first game oft he day. I was in command of one German Zeppelin that tried to bomb a target in England.
Second Zeppelin was commanded by my old friend night bombers.

Facing some of Britains finest, Paul/Tikkifriend set my Zeppelin on fire with his SPAD VII.
But othere gamers suffered fire damage, too. Guess which plane is burning on the picture.
If you don’t know ask Flying Officer Kyte.

We lost the game with two Zeppelins shot down.

Herr you can see Asja beside Nemanja. She performed very well.

During the Zeppelin attack Joaquim hosted a BoB game.

12:30 pm Nightbomber and me prepared Jetfighter attack, a game with escorted B-17 fortresses and attacking German Me262 jetfighters.

I hired two Polish top fighters (Andrzej & Andrzej The Nightbomber) with Supermarine Spitfire IXs to keep the jetfighters on distance.
The bombers (we had only 2 instead of 3) were managed by me.

The gaming area was on two gaming mats. We played with standard rules and no altitude. The general idea for this scenario was created in Opole/Poland during my visit in Andrzej’s home country.

Thunderbolt (Rafal) & Chartas (Martin) talking about tactics, how to attack the fortresses the best way. Two other Schwalbes were in command of their sons Darek & Martin II.

The Jetfighters rushed in and crippled the Fortresses real fast. The Germans had a good concept and maneuvered outstanding. The USAAF had no chance.

Result: 2x B17 & 1 Spitfire shot down for the loss of 1 Me262

A lot of close range shots killed the bombers.

A picture of the Warboss shop with Martin & Martin II in front.

For lunch everyone brought own food to the shop. We had had Serbian ham, Polish & Czech saussages, English meat pies, German gingerbread and many more fine things to eat.

For drinking the Warboss shop owner offered us blond and brown Czech beer from kegs, fresh and cold tapped! Excellent!

BroukPytlik (Michal) with his handmade Afrikakorps boots. The person beind him is his father Bumblebee (Zdenek).

Both contributed a lot to the SummerCon by running very interesting scenarios, equipping the games with self-made damage decks and many other things.

Michal produces high quality WGS miniatures from resin and decals for WGS planes. The planes he and Zdenek repainted and scratch built and rebuilt are awesome.

Daniel checked Rob’s excellent miniatures for the next mission.

03:40 pm Time for my campaign mission Circus! Circus!

Lost the first two missions of the day, the German side was on the defense and needed to escort a hard hit giant back to base.

The Staaken had only 15 hitpoints left. Only the two rear gunners were active. The front gunner and engineers were wounded.

There were some special rules: If you fly a repainted plane you received a coin. This coin could be exchanged to avoid a gun jam once.

Fortunately we managed to run the whole game with repaints and there were some real beauties on the board.

The setup was on two gaming mats, altitude rules (from 1 to max. 5), all planes started at level 4 with the bomber flying straights the whole time and loosing one altitude level per 5 hits. Only 3 respawns per side. Peg to base collision with C damage.

Darek the young Polish pilot was the leader of the left German formation of 4 planes with Mario to the left, Markus to the right and Kubajs in the rear.
Escort duty was under command of me in Richthofen’s Fokker with Joaquim on my right side in his von Lisbon tripe. Jelena in her beautiful black Fokker and Asja escorted the rear side of the bomber.

The scary attackers:

An impressive squadron of Royal Naval Air Service led by the famous Flying Officer Kyte. To his left: Paul, Nemanja & Dennis. To his right Daniel, Radek , Jirka and Honza.

Two aces were assigned for the mission (Daniel and me). To shot down an ace would bring you extra points for winning the fight.

Unfortunately Daniel catched a bunch of high damage cards at the real beginning and was hot down soon. I survived only with a scratch, but without an aerial vitory.

It was a deadly dance. The British side has drew real bad damage cards and fell out of the skies one after another. The Circus did a great job.

UK Wing Commander burnt in style again. Thank you Rob for let us participate to this great tradition.

The RNAS side was really cursed. Even the bomber survived with 1 hitpoint left. (time was over) A last desperate ram attack from brave Nemanja missed the giant.

The result:

6x Camels shot down (one by AI bomber gunner)
1x Fokker lost because a friendly collision
1x Staaken escaped to safety
(For this mission the Germans were allowed to share victories – one Sopwith Camel was brought down by a crossfire of three fokkers)

It was a badly needed German victory after a defeat with Zeppelins and Ballons.
Special thanks to Joaquim who helped me to host the game and to keep an overview. We had a lot of fun my friend.

06:15 pm the last mission(s) of the day started: WGF Operation Michael hosted by Nightbomber and a Midway scenario hosted by Michal.

I skipped the last mission and left over my Fokker D.VII to Jelena for gaming.

Kubajs, Czech Flight Commander assigned targets for his fellow pilots.

The Germans fought like Eagles and won a tight victory with 11 vs. 10 destroyed ground targets.
RAF pilot Honza destroyed 5 ground targets for the Entente. Well done!

Meanwhile Andrea checked fresh received damage tokens from Japanese attackers.

Here is a snapshot from the Midway scenario.

After the last battle was fought, sponsored Ares Games prize were given to youngsters and campaigners. I’m proud that prizes for the best campaign pilots went to me (3rd), Markus (2nd) and Joaquim (1st) who won a KS Staaken bomber.

All winner belonged to the Kaiser’s team.

08:45 pm We met for a debriefing in a famous beer pub. All tables were prepared with cheese and sausage. Thank you Czech comrades.

Unfortunately Joaquim and the English pilots weren’t able to join and had left before to care for the ladies that released them so long for gaming with us.

Thank you ladies for let your men play with us.

That’s a German pilot looking forward for the tasty Czech beer!

German pilot Nachtschwärmer/Dennis and Kubajs talking with the waitress.

11:00 pm Nemanja joined the table – here talking with Mario and Markus.

We had a real good time and talks with our friends and wingmen, exchanging each other about the Con, future missions and stuff like that.

Sunday 01:31 am the last beer.

Don’t ask…

Sunday 01:52 am We waved goodby to Daniel and Kubajs.

Ladinek was so kind to direct the German wing to the right tram.

“Thank you very much my friend.” Otherwise we would have been lost.

I don’t talk about the short way from the tram station to the hotel and the next 30 minutes.

The bill: 7 beers and 2 shots in the Warboss shop – 7 beers and 1 shot in the pub.

Good night.

Well, almost a complete and full report, Sven.
You should have mentioned we had a new, very pretty player this year, a young lady-pilot, who appears on your pictures (on purpose, I am sure): Asja from Serbia.. Congrats to Nemanja on recruiting such pilots!

    Excellent second day!
I went to bed - I had a cold for three days already - without knowing I had won the first prize.
Sunday morning started with a wonderful surprise.
