08:15 am: Mario knocked on my door and we went with Nightbomber to the upper deck for breackfast. Coffee, eggs and sausages.
Perfect weather outside and a nice riverview.

09:10 am: We’re on our way. 20 min left to the start of the first games.

We missed the Line 22 for seconds and had to wait 10 minutes. Andrzej and me were the hosts of WGF Caproni’s Revenge and WGS Italian Eagle, so the comrades had to wait.

09:45 am: We arrived and I was happy to meet Watchdog there. He is one of the founding members of the first Summer Con 2012.

09:55 am: The battle started. In my mission a giant Caproni Ca. 4 should bomb an Austria-Hungarian barrack in a Garrison city.

I brought my Italian Hanriots, A-H Aviatics and the new Macchi M.5 flyboats to the Con.

Kubajs was in command of the bomber. With altitude rules and bombing with altitude from level 4 his first bombload hit the hospital. The second one hit the barracks and he started the long journey home.

Gun jams were a real pain.

Dan-Sam (right hand with watch) maneuvered his Aviatik two times in a real perfect shooting positions and suffered two time gun jams.

The Central Power planes had a bad day and shot down only one of the intruders.

The bomber escaped and the Italians won the scenario. I didn't participate and hosted the game.

The mission was a success and I think the participants had fun, too. Of course I’ll try to host another WW I bombing mission next year.

Here a picture with Jelena. She fought brave versus the Italians and her B firing Aviatik suffered smoke and fire damage in a row.

A good reason for a picture with the host.

11:45 am: We used the short brake for a group picture. The Prague Flight handed over a nice Wellington bomber picture to Andrea.

12:00 pm: I changed to WGS and played Dan-Sam’s Dieppe raid mission. The famous Nightbomber formed a flight of Bf.110s with me and we were going for some British AA guns. Andrzej had the black Zerstörer, I was in command of the grey one.

Our opponents were British Beaufighters with a cover of 3 Hurricanes. Our strafing run was escorted by 3 Messerschmitt Bf.109s.

Here the British setupt their forces.

Don’t ask me why, but the first German AA hit was at my own plane. I had adjusted the Flak by myself…

I pulled out a 10 point D damage.

A good mission start.

But we performed well and destroyed 2 enemy AA positions and damaged a third one badly, that survived only buy luck.

Gentlemen as we were, the victory was sharded with the British and we had a good time.

Nemanja proofed his lucky hand. This Zerstörer salvo definitely missed his Hurricane.

03:30 pm: We played Nightbombers easy Zeppelin. Everyone wanted to take part in it so Honza skiped his WGS carrier attack.

Andrzej explained the rules and we were all impressed by this beautiful map, designed by 7eat51’s wife Sue from the United States.

18 players were equipped with late war planes and I bought a new plane in Ladinek’s shop for this mission. It was Cotton & Betts Airco D.H.4. Unfortunately I did not shot down an enemy fighter and tried then to knock out the Zeppelin.

We failed to bring the beast down in 12 turns and the Germans won the match. I think we reached with 18 players our max. capacity at one table. A stressfull job for the host, but Watchdog supported him to keep an eye on all collisions, shootings, etc…

06:00 pm We elected the winner of the repaint contest. I really like the idea of a contest during the Con.

Here some planes of the contest entries:

The RNAS Sopwith Camel was mine.

The other planes:

Michal won the contest with the Finish Gloster Gladiator repaint. First price for the contest was a Caproni Ca.3 sponsored by Eric (7eat51).

Watchdog with his Caproni Ca.3 repaint lost the runoff election 8:9.

Here you see Kubajs (right) that handed the price to Michal (left).

06:30 pm: Time for the last game of the day. It was an Eastern Front scenario. We were equipped with early war planes like Messerschmitts and Polikarpows and played with altitude rules.

It was a dogfight mission. The moment somebody was shot down he could grab a better plane and return to battle. The victorious pilot kept his old plane, could grab an ace ability and continued the fight.

I spotted some really good repaints in this game and grabbed a chair at the side of the table ad fought with my White Polikarpov versus my German comrades Markus & Mario in Finish planes.

When Zdenek’s Messerschmitt 109 took me out of the game I returned with Lydia Litvjak‘s Yak-1 and shot down Honza, the German Messerschmitt ace.

He swore bloody revenge and returned with a Focke Wulf 190A6 and missed my engine damaged Yak-1 twice only for millimeters.

Here you can see him, heading for my Yak-1.

Mario finished me finally off.

I refused to respawn a third time 10 minutes before the end of the battle.

The Soviets were victorious. Nemanja survived the whole game in his Polkarpov and told the Messerschmitt and Focke Wulf pilots a bitter lesson.

Here you can see one of the beautiful designed Summer Con cockpits and the result of harmless German shooting versus the Air-Partisan's Ishak.

08:30 pm: On our way to a Pub were we made a reservation for the Con people. I had a perfect meal with little fried fishes and a Garlic dip. Nemanja and me entertained the nearby sitting people with a duett of Lilly Marlene.

Personal Beer counter: 4

I changed places to talk to as many people as possible. What a nice atmosphere with unique beers and meals. I refused the main singing contest that started with The White cliffs of Dover, but performed the first verse of the Wacht Am Rhein for the guys.

Personal Beer counter: 6

11:55 pm: The Tambor beer tasted deliciousand we leaved the pub at midnight, to be in a good condition for the last Con day.
