Gibraltar cuff title, Ghent 1914

Letter on reverse (below) translated by uwing50: dated 29.10.1914 at Gent (or Ghent, Belgium).

An interesting group photo due mainly to the curious collar insignia being worn by the men of all ranks. The sender informs us that it is the regimental insignia, which is generally worn on the shoulders - except for the Landsturm battalions.

Another anomaly is the 'Gibraltar' cuff-title being worn on their right sleeves. The only units authorised to wear this were the 73rd Fusilier Regt., the 10th Jager Batl. and Infanterie-Regiment von Voigts-Rhetz (3. Hannoversches) Nr.79.
